Founded in 2019 in New York by Chinese designer Rui Zhou, RUIbuilt (formerly Rui) is an avant-garde fashion label exploring the intimate relationship between body and clothing. Now based in Shanghai, the brand gained international acclaim after Zhou became the first Chinese designer to win the LVMH Karl Lagerfeld Prize in 2021. RUIbuilt is celebrated for its signature "in-between" aesthetic, characterized by delicate bead-linking, soft draping, sheer stretch textures, and daring cut-out shapes that act as a second skin.
