Founded in 1913 by brothers Irving and Jack Schott on New York's Lower East Side, Schott NYC is a pillar of American outerwear. The sons of Russian immigrants, they began by making raincoats and were the first to put a zipper on a jacket. This spirit of innovation led to the creation of the first leather motorcycle jacket in 1928, the Perfecto®, named after Irving Schott's favorite cigar. Originally sold for $5.50 at a Harley-Davidson distributor, the jacket's rugged design was quickly embraced by bikers.
