Founded in Canada in 1962 by the Kaufman Rubber Company, Sorel built its name on durable, protective boots designed to withstand harsh winters. Its most iconic silhouette combined a waterproof vulcanized rubber shell with a leather upper and became a benchmark for cold-weather gear. After the parent company faced bankruptcy, Sorel was acquired by Columbia Sportswear in 2000 and underwent a significant transformation.
