Founded in 2015 by Amin Adjmi from the trunk of his car while a student at Boston University, Staycoolnyc is a lifestyle brand built on a colorful wave of 80s and 90s nostalgia. The brand pioneered the term “Chillwear,” a category of comfortable, everyday apparel that merges the laid-back attitudes of surf, skate, and street culture. Its core identity is rooted in re-connecting with a playful, inner-child spirit through positive and often whimsical graphics on its hoodies, sweatpants, and tees. The designs feature a retro-futuristic twist, using vibrant color palettes and innovative elements like heat-reactive and scratch-and-sniff materials to create an interactive experience.
