Founded in Sweden in 2015 by civil engineer Stina Andersson, Stinaa.J was created to resolve the conflict between style and comfort in women's footwear. After one too many evenings ending in painful feet, Andersson partnered with Peter Hedström, an orthopedic technician with four decades of experience, to engineer a new kind of shoe. The brand builds its footwear from the inside out, starting with a patented orthopedic insole developed from data from millions of 3D-scanned feet. This technology, which uses cushioning materials originally developed for the space industry, is integrated into classic, minimalist silhouettes like pumps, boots, and sneakers.
