Founded in Stockholm in 2010, Stutterheim reimagined the classic raincoat, elevating it from a purely functional item to a symbol of Scandinavian cool. The brand was started by Alexander Stutterheim, a former copywriter, after he discovered his grandfather's durable 1960s fisherman's raincoat in a barn. Inspired by its timeless, sturdy design, he set out to create a modern equivalent, launching the first small batch from his apartment. Stutterheim’s identity is built on handmade craftsmanship, using rubberized cotton with double-welded seams for complete waterproofness. The signature products, like the straight-fit Stockholm and A-line Mosebacke coats, are defined by their clean lines and minimalist aesthetic, reflecting the brand’s tagline, "Swedish melancholy at its driest."
