Rooted in a family history that began with knitwear merchant Nicola Somma in 1892, the Svevo brand was officially established as a knitwear factory by his son Mario in 1955 in Bari, Italy. The name pays homage to the city's historic Norman-Swabian Castle, reflecting the brand's deep connection to Italian heritage. In the 1990s, the Somma family relocated the production unit to Fidenza, near Parma, acquiring a historic knitting mill and continuing its legacy of quality. Now in its fourth generation, the company maintains its reputation for producing some of the world's finest knitwear, even manufacturing for other top-tier luxury houses.
