Founded by the late Taiga Takahashi in 2017, the brand operates as a form of applied archaeology, guided by the principle of “resurrecting relics of the past to unearth artifacts of the future.” Takahashi, who was a dedicated collector of American vintage from the 1920s-50s, established a unique design process based on the deep historical analysis of these garments. The brand reinterprets pre-mass production workwear, particularly denim and military pieces, by recreating them using traditional and often disappearing Japanese craft techniques. This includes natural hand-dyeing methods with mud or indigo and weaving fabrics on antique power looms to achieve unique textures.
