Founded in 2017 by Sayori Tanaka, the New York-based brand TANAKA offers clothing designed to connect “the past 100 years with the next 100 years.” With a background that includes designing for Yohji Yamamoto and UNIQLO, Tanaka brings a unique perspective shaped by her father, a kimono textile designer, and her grandfather, a landscape gardener. This heritage informs the brand's focus on nature, imperfection, and enduring quality. In 2020, fellow UNIQLO alum Akira Kuboshita joined as Creative Director, strengthening the brand's vision.
