Founded in 1981 by Austrian gallerist Thaddaeus Ropac, the eponymous gallery has grown into one of Europe’s most influential contemporary art networks. Ropac, whose early career included an internship with Joseph Beuys, established his first space in Lienz before expanding to Salzburg, Paris, London, Seoul, and Milan. The gallery represents over 60 prominent artists and renowned estates, including Georg Baselitz, Anselm Kiefer, and Antony Gormley, alongside younger talents.
