Founded in 2010 by author and activist Barb Stegemann, The 7 Virtues is a Canadian social enterprise that reframes fragrance as an instrument for peace and empowerment. The brand was born from a promise to a friend, a soldier wounded in Afghanistan, to continue his mission of peace. Stegemann, a former journalist, launched the company from her garage by sourcing legal orange blossom and rose oils from Afghan farmers to provide an alternative to the illegal poppy cultivation.
