Founded in 2014 by three Lithuanian friends, The Knotty Ones is a knitwear brand built on sustainability and female empowerment. The brand was born from a desire to create contemporary, high-quality knits that honor traditional Baltic craftsmanship while rejecting the principles of fast fashion. Today, the founders are based between Vilnius, Lithuania, and Brooklyn, New York, and lead a "close-knit sisterhood" of over 70 female artisans in rural Lithuania. By providing fair wages and safe working conditions, The Knotty Ones offers financial independence to women in areas where jobs are scarce.
