Formed in 1980 in Huntington Beach, California, The Vandals emerged from the vibrant Orange County punk scene with a distinctively humorous and sarcastic approach to music. Founded by guitarist Jan Nils Ackermann and vocalist Steven Ronald Jensen, the band quickly set itself apart from its hardcore peers by trading political fury for full-on farce. Today, the enduring lineup of Joe Escalante, Dave Quackenbush, Warren Fitzgerald, and Josh Freese continues to define the group's legacy.
