Irish-born designer Tom Binns has been a fixture in avant-garde jewelry since the early 1980s, when he began his career collaborating with Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren on their punk-themed collections. After moving to London, he honed a rebellious, Dada-inspired style, pioneering an approach that fused precious jewels with household junk and found objects. In 2004, he officially founded Tom Binns Design, translating his anarchic sensibility into a formal brand. His work is known for its irreverent wit and its challenge to conventional notions of value, mixing materials like Swarovski crystals and pearls with neon paint, safety pins, and beach glass.
