Founded in 2024 by stylist and creative director Polo Cheng, Troubled Waters is an emerging menswear label that translates literary tension into emotionally charged, avant-garde streetwear. Taking its name from the Japanese novella *Nigorie*, the brand structures its collections as theatrical “ACTS” rather than traditional seasons, allowing its dark, cinematic narrative to unfold continuously. Cheng, a former fashion editor and content creator, infuses the brand with deeply personal references, drawing from childhood memories, manga, and archival garments.
