Founded in 1938 by Monroe B. Levoy in New York City, Tura is a historic American eyewear brand that helped pioneer the concept of glasses as a fashion accessory. Originally operating out of a Madison Avenue optician’s shop, the brand gained early prominence by introducing the "Match to Fashion" concept, which encouraged women to coordinate their eyewear with their wardrobes. Tura was also the first eyewear company to partner with a major fashion house, launching a licensed collection with Christian Dior in 1966.
