Founded in 2016 in Oakland, California, by architects Victor Lefebvre and Mei-Lan Tan, UMÉ Studio is a multidisciplinary design practice that blurs the boundaries between art, craft, and everyday utility. Drawing on their backgrounds in architecture and time spent in Japan, the founders approach each piece with a focus on materiality and the quiet rituals that shape daily life. The brand is best known for its signature Erode Soaps—oversized, cold-process bars blended with goat’s milk and natural botanicals that take eight weeks to cure and slowly transform into sculptural shapes with use.
