Founded in 2022 in Brooklyn and Maine by former fashion executive Erin Pollard, Underwater Weaving Studio is an American basket atelier dedicated to the preservation and modernization of ancient weaving techniques. Raised in Maine by a master-weaver mother, Pollard returned to the craft as a meditative practice, eventually partnering with her mother to launch the studio. This intergenerational collaboration forms the foundation of the brand, merging decades of traditional handwork mastery with a refined, contemporary design sensibility.
