Founded in 2016 by Katonya Breaux, Unsun Cosmetics was created to solve a universal problem in beauty: the lack of clean, mineral-based sunscreens that blend flawlessly on skin of color. Breaux, frustrated by the white, chalky residue left by most sunscreens, developed a tinted formula specifically to disappear on tones from olive to the darkest chocolate. The Los Angeles-based brand launched with a mission to provide inclusive, high-quality sun protection that also doubles as skincare, using ingredients that are gentle on the skin and kind to the environment.
