Founded in 1990 in the Swedish province of Hälsingland, Växbo Lin was established by a group of villagers led by Rolf Åkerlund to preserve the region's centuries-old linen weaving heritage. At a time when the Swedish textile industry was moving production abroad, the founders built a modern flax spinning mill on a historic site in Trolldalen, where waterwheel-powered flax processing mills once operated. Since 2006, the company has been run by Hanna and Jacob Bruce, who maintain the brand's commitment to local, sustainable production.
