Founded in 2004 by former bankers Sébastien Kopp and François-Ghislain Morillion, Veja was built to deconstruct and rethink a popular product: the sneaker. The French brand operates on a foundation of transparency, using its name—Portuguese for “look”—as an invitation for consumers to look beyond the final product to see how it’s made. Rejecting traditional advertising, Veja invests its resources into the production chain, ensuring economic justice and using ecological materials. The brand is defined by its clean, minimalist sneakers, often featuring a simple “V” logo. Core materials include fair-trade organic cotton from Brazil and Peru, and wild rubber harvested from the Amazon rainforest, a practice which helps combat deforestation.
