Inspired by the surfing scene and seeking an alternative to the era's tight-fitting swimwear, he designed a longer, more comfortable boxer-style trunk from quick-drying spinnaker sailcloth. The brand's name, French for "crankshaft," reflects Prysquel's passion for motorsports. Vilebrequin captures the carefree, sun-drenched spirit of the French Riviera, quickly becoming a staple for vacation elegance. The house is renowned for its playful, colorful patterns and the introduction of the 'father and son' matching swimwear concept, which has become a signature element of its identity.
