Founded in 2019, Viori is a sustainable beauty brand built around the hair care rituals of the Red Yao tribe from the Longsheng mountains of China. The brand's story began when its founders discovered the community's tradition of using fermented rice water to cultivate exceptionally long and healthy hair. Viori was established in partnership with the tribe, creating a direct, ethical, and sustainable relationship. The brand purchases Longsheng rice at a premium and invests a portion of its profits back into the community through its “Beautiful Reason Initiative” to help preserve their culture and environment.
