Founded in 2009 in Boulder, Colorado, by husband-and-wife team Steven Sashen and Lena Phoenix, Xero Shoes emerged from a desire to create footwear that promotes natural movement. Sashen, a former sprinter who suffered running injuries, was inspired by the barefoot running movement to design the brand's first DIY sandal kits using rubber soles and laces. Today, Xero Shoes has evolved into a comprehensive lifestyle and performance footwear brand, offering everything from running shoes and hiking boots to casual sneakers and sandals.
