XLARGE is one of the original American streetwear brands, founded in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles in 1991 by Eli Bonerz and Adam Silverman. Launched before "streetwear" was a defined category, the brand's first shop on Vermont Avenue quickly became a hub for LA's burgeoning skate and music scenes. With early backing from Mike D of the Beastie Boys, XLARGE translated the city's cultural energy into a distinct style, blending workwear, vintage, and skate influences. Its iconic "OG" gorilla logo became a symbol of this new, casual approach to fashion that resonated globally.
