Founded in 2023 by Central Saint Martins graduate Yaku Stapleton, YAKU is a London-based label rooted in the narrative world of Afrofuturism and fantasy. Stapleton, who won the prestigious L'Oréal Professionnel Creative Award for his MA collection, built the brand around an unfolding story called 'The ImPossible Family Reunion in RPG Space.' Each collection represents a new chapter, with garments conceived as gear for characters based on the designer's own family members, reimagined for a limitless, game-inspired universe.
