y's aspesi

Y's Aspesi is the utilitarian collaborative label formed by the union of Japanese avant-garde house Y's (by Yohji Yamamoto) and Italian heritage manufacturer Aspesi. Active primarily in the late 2000s, the partnership leveraged Aspesi’s technical mastery of nylon and down insulation to reinterpret Yohji Yamamoto’s signature voluminous, deconstructed silhouettes. The result was a collection of high-concept outerwear—including modular down jackets, garment-dyed military coats, and articulated cargo trousers—that balanced the Japanese designer’s poetic, anti-fashion sensibility with the pragmatic, material-focused ethos of Milanese industrial design.
