This A. Lange & Söhne 1815 Moonphase "Hommage to Emil Lange," reference 231.031, is a first-generation limited edition of 250 pieces in rose gold, created to mark the 150th anniversary of the birth of Emil Lange — the son of founder Ferdinand Adolph Lange who, with his brother, carried the manufactory to international renown. What sets this example apart, above even its limited status, is its rare pairing with a Wellendorff rose-gold bracelet: hand-woven from precious metal by the celebrated German jeweller, it is a genuinely exceptional and seldom-seen fitment on a Lange, transforming the watch into something far scarcer and more distinctive than the standard strap-mounted pieces. Powered by the hand-wound calibre L943.1, it displays hours, minutes, small seconds with a stop-seconds function, and a moon-phase indication engineered to stay accurate for a thousand years. The rose-gold case measures 36mm across and 9mm in thickness, a classical and understated size that wears with quiet ease. A black dial with applied round and star markers gives the watch a warm, characterful face rarely seen in the maison's more restrained catalogue. An early modern Lange of real charm, made rarer still by its extraordinary bracelet.
