With the original French title "Six Concerts à plusieurs instruments" (Six Concertos for several instruments), some feature multiple solo instruments in different combinations. These works are considered among the best orchestral compositions of the Baroque period. Brandenburg Concerto No. 1, BWV 1048, might be considered Bach's favorite given that he used it three times in cantatas he composed later, and it also has the largest scoring of the six. The original version of the score did not include the French Violino piccolo solo at all. It was included later when Bach was in Dresden for his projected contest with Marchant. Bach rewrote the third movement as a concerto for the Violin piccolo in the style of jig, then went back and incorporated the Violino piccolo into the other movements. As the Violino piccolo sounds up a third from where it is written, two parts are included: a FINGERING NOTATION copy and a CONCERT NOTATION copy. This edition by Heinrich Besseler includes an extensive preface and editor's notes. The continuo in the harpsichord part has been realized by Eduard Müller. Instrumentation: 0.3.0.1: 2.0.0.0: Hpchd (continuo): Str (2-2-2-1-1): Solo Violin (in set). ## Variants - **In stock:** 1 of 1 | SKU | Availability | | --- | --- | | 36-A334001 | In stock | ## Categories - **Categories:** Shipped ## Additional Attributes - **handle:** brandenburg-concerto-no-1-in-f-bwv-1046-critical-edition-36-a334001 - **weight:** 0.4 - **barcode:** 9798888523841 - **created at:** 2025-12-20T16:56:27-08:00 - **updated at:** 2026-08-04T00:34:08-07:00 - **variant sku:** 36-A334001 - **weight unit:** lb - **product type:** Shipped - **published at:** 2026-08-03T20:17:10-07:00 - **published scope:** global - **requires shipping:** true - **inventory management:** shopify ## Enrichment - **Type:** sheet music - **Type Synonyms:** musical score, full score - **Tags:** printed music, classical music, orchestral score - **Category Path:** Media > Sheet Music - **Compatible instrument:** Other, Violin - **Music genre:** Classic - **Canonical Brand:** Alfred Music ## Images - ![Image 1](https://cdn.octogen.ai/9b2a64a810fa62ecdf8db63b242cdf34/74f03afc45b507009287036a3b406556.webp) --- *Source: cosimo.shop | Product ID: 11207c7b-2b41-4eb4-9afd-5a4ed527a14c | Canonical URL: https://cosimo.shop/product/alfred-music/brandenburg-concerto-no-1-in-f-bwv-1046-critical-edition-full-orchestra-solo-strings-with-ensemble-11207c7b-2b41-4eb4-9afd-5a4ed527a14c*
