- **Built to Last & Easy to Maintain:** Your Avocado furniture is crafted from real, solid wood — built to last for years, even generations. Unlike composite or veneer furniture, which is not made to endure, our solid wood naturally evolves over time, developing a rich character from the life lived around it. We finish each maple wood piece with a Renner® Clear Topcoat that is water-based — which means lower odor, safer application, and easy cleanup with just water. It's not classified as hazardous under OSHA Hazard Communication Standards (HCS 29 CFR 1910.1200), and it does not contain any substances known to the State of California to cause cancer, reproductive harm, or birth defects (Prop 65 compliant). We chose a formula with rapidly biodegradable ingredients because we believe what's good for your home should also be good for the planet. We finish each walnut wood piece with Walrus Oil from their Furniture Maker Master Kit — a trusted, American-made wood finish created with natural, food-safe ingredients , such as polymerizing oils and plant waxes. Free from harmful chemicals, VOCs, and synthetics, it aligns perfectly with Avocado’s mission to create safe, sustainable, and healthy home products. Most aging in wood furniture happens within the first year. We want you to live comfortably with your furniture — don’t worry about small scuffs or marks. They’re part of its charm and story. Walrus Oil® products are not a burden, but an invitation — a way to stay in harmony with your furniture. With a touch of care , your piece can be refreshed and restored to maintain its natural beauty and integrity for decades to come.
