## Summary

A softcover novelette titled 'The Laurel' by Carmelia Rennell, featuring a cover image of forest greenery.

## Description

A dizzying, dreamy, ecological take on a classic myth. Lana is a reclusive 14-year-old girl who will do anything to be beautiful. But outside her home, in the desolate Pacific Northwest forest, someone is stalking her. Between skincare fads and social media trolls, Lana loses her judgement – but will she lose her life? “She doesn’t open the present, placed on the mantle, waiting. Over the next few days, it begins to stink. Like something organic and living, something like a tooth pulled prematurely. Wet bones and a change in speech. Lana knows, the stench is the gift.” Carmella Rennell is a writer and visual artist from Santa Cruz, California. Rennell received her B.A., in Designing with the Erotic and Philosophies of Beauty, from NYU. This is her first book. 34 pages. Printed in USA.
