Like so many of our denim projects, the fabric of our Selvedge Natural Denim Ball Cap is woven in Okayama, Japan's premier denim-making prefecture. Made on antique shuttle looms, this fabric is woven with an uneven nap, or a slub yarn, that harkens back to 19th-century fabrics characterized by their intentionally irregular thickness. This type of yarn features an unevenness, which gives the fabric a unique texture and character. As such, no two ball caps are the same. The cap is secured by a sturdy Wickett & Craig leather adjustment strap and soft cotton sweatband to keep it secure and comfortable. Emblazoned with a Best Made commemorative “Still Optimistic” merrowed patch that celebrates our re-launch, this cap is a proud emblem of our ongoing partnership with some of the finest fabric-makers in Japan.
