This bra top is made from deadstock ribbon from Staron, a textile and passementerie manufacturer who was one of the main suppliers of French couture houses from the 1920s-1950s. Founded in the 1870s, Staron was known for its pioneering jacquard ribbons, in both floral and geometric patterns. The firm's fabrics and ribbons could be found in everything from Dior's New Look skirts to Madame Grès's draped dresses.
