These shorts are inspired by a 1940s tablecloth and feature a historical reproduction of the original vine pattern. The design is worked in couching embroidery, a style in which cord is laid on the fabric in patterns and secured with perpendicular stitches. The shorts are cut to mimic traditional rugby shorts worn throughout Canada, with a short inseam and wide leg opening. All wear, mending, and idiosyncrasies are unique to the custom textile.
