## Summary

Retro-style football shirt featuring a blue and white color-block design, short sleeves with ribbed cuffs, and an embroidered team crest on the chest.

## Description

Few clubs kick off a season knowing that however well they play in the coming months, relegation is an absolute certainty regardless. This was the prospect that Arminia Bielefeld faced during the 1971 - 72 season as a consequence of their involvement in the 1971 Bundesliga match-fixing scandal.

By the time the judgement was passed, it was too late to change the divisional structure, so Bielefeld were allowed to complete the following season with their record to be wiped at the end of it. With a thin squad that was also missing the suspended Waldemar Slomiany and Jürgen Neumann, Bielefeld would have finished bottom of the table anyway had the relegation places been based solely on results.

The Arminia Bielefeld 1971 - 72 Retro Football Shirt recalls one of the most unusual and turbulent seasons in the club’s history.
