HOW DOUBLE-SIDED FANS ARE MADE Each fan has two separate fabric layers, one for the front and one for the back, attached to a single set of bamboo ribs. The fabric layers are attached to the ribs, not to each other. Because there is twice the fabric, your fan will feel thicker, slightly heavier, and bulkier than a single-sided fan.
