DWR tapped Brooklyn designer Emilio Halperin to design an upholstered bed with hidden storage – no drawers to open or mattress to lift – and a bench for sitting on. With the Corbel Bed (2026), that was the easy part. “Having a specific detail – like the integrated end-of-bed bench – almost reveals a functionality to you,” he says. The hard part? Staying true to its simple, unconventional blocklike forms for both the storage and standard configurations. “It’s a bit challenging to have a relatively straightforward object because the details matter all the more.” Made in USA from globally sourced materials.
