Designed by Sean Yoo for Design Within Reach, the Matera Dining Chair (2023) features clean lines, beveled edges, and slotted mortise-and-tenon corner joints in its beautifully crafted, solid wood frame. Its simple sled base and open back keep the silhouette light and airy, while the upholstered seat and gently curved, angled backrest keep you and your guests comfortable for long periods of time. Yoo credits Isamu Noguchi for inspiring his career in design. “I was particularly attracted to the way Noguchi applied sculptural qualities to common household items. It seemed to give meaning and purpose to otherwise meaningless objects,” he says. Made in the USA.
