The name “rivière” comes from the French word for river and was used as early as the 18th century to describe the way the gemstones flow around the neck. The removable extension link lets you wear the necklace on its own as a continuous chain or with the link for a one-inch drop. Here, it is paired with our Lovestruck Pierced Custom Round Medallion, which features up to three pavé diamond letters at the center. The letters may be personal initials or a meaningful acronym or word. The piercings on the medallion's outer border were inspired by the Roman god Cupid, whose fateful arrows struck mortal hearts and made them fall in love—forever marked with a bead of impact.
