This shirt is the new edition of a style from the SS1990 Collection, a reinterpretation that is part of a four-piece outfit: jacket, shirt, waistcoat and trousers. Shot by Aldo Fallai in that year's Spring/Summer campaign and later included in the 2000–2001 Guggenheim exhibition, confirmation of its iconic and cultural value within the brand's creative journey. The design reflects one of Giorgio Armani's fundamental principles: deconstruction, i.e. the lightening of the traditionally tailored structure to make room for a more natural, fluid fit that is closer to the body. The linen garment stands out for its relaxed and modern elegance, distinguished by a front fastening with visible buttons that clearly defines its line. The SS1990 collection introduces a more elongated and fitted silhouette, with jackets featuring a softened shoulderline and fluid proportions that follow the figure naturally. The volumes are carefully calibrated, alternating leaner lines with freer and more experimental elements. Rich fabrics and light textures coexist in balance, while bold colour combinations and exotic influences help define a modern, sophisticated aesthetic.
