The Habita chessboard is an object constructed slowly, with the same care reserved for unique pieces. The base is made of solid wood, hand-painted with a satin finish that reveals the living material. Each piece of the set is handcrafted in Umbria: cut, shaped and painted by hand, using stainless steel and oxidised iron, worked one by one. Subtle differences between the individual chess pieces are a sign of the artisan hand that created them. The chessboard can be lifted to reveal a wooden compartment inside that holds the pieces neatly. The leather details with hand stitching and the steel finishes define a textured language consistent with the Herno aesthetic. This is not just a game. It’s a small masterpiece in design, destined to collect memories: a friendly challenge, a winter evening, a shared experience.Handmade in solid woodHand-painted base with satin finishChess pieces made of stainless steel and oxidised ironInner wooden compartment to store the pieces neatlyLeather details with hand topstitchingPieces cut, shaped and painted by hand, one by oneLeather details with hand topstitchingThe product is supplied with protective packaging suitable for transportationCrafted in ItalyDimensions:- Top metal handles: 1 × 8.4 cm- Overall dimensions: 33.6 × 33.6 × 5 cm
