A Century Denim reinterpretation of Japanese shortpants that were often worn for agricultural work. Designed for the labor intensive job of hand picking rice, these shortpants have a deep rise and wide legs. The inseam is long so they can be worn in shallow water while maximizing coverage.  13.5oz Rigid Denim woven with 2 types of yarn. No. 5 denim is plant dyed with persimmon tannins and reinforced with indigo dyed sashiko thread. Over time, the fade of the indigo dyed sashiko thread contrasts with the kakishibu dyed denim, creating a personalized aging effect.
