Kevin Stamper’s pieces showcase not only his woodworking and marquetry capabilities but his artistic sensibilities too. The Worcestershire-based maker has long felt an affinity for Modernist art, and veers between drawing inspiration directly from the movement’s masters and creating a personal aesthetic derived from his own modern times—chiefly today’s ever-expanding digital landscape. This trinket box leans toward the former, minimally decorated with the neat geometric forms one might find in a painting by Mondrian or one of his contemporaries.
