## Description

L’Incognitos were unveiled as Martin Margiela’s first eyewear offering in 2008. Everything from their name to their design contributes to the motifs of anonymity that are associated with the label and its reclusive namesake. When worn, the sunglasses are intended to create the effect of a blurred-out line across one’s eyes, and such an effect is used in striking ways across numerous Margiela presentations. This particular iteration comes from the spring of 2009. Subtle variations were implemented from season to season — while the originals contained no frame, and their visor-like lens wrapped entirely around the wearer’s face, this pair is more outfitted for daily wear, with a thin metal frame, a rubber-tipped bridge, and more traditional metal arms.
