The Naked & Famous Harionago Selvedge draws its name and its character from one of Japanese folklore's most striking figures, the yōkai Harionago, the Barbed-Hair Woman, a supernatural spirit whose long, thorn-like hair was sharp, tangled, and inescapable. The connection between myth and material is direct: the 14oz Japanese selvedge is woven at low tension and left unsinged, allowing the surface fibers to remain wild and bristled, mirroring the creature's untamed hair in textile form. Custom artwork by Canadian artist Jacqui Oakley reinforces the narrative throughout. The rope-dyed indigo and visible irregularity of the low-tension weave give the fabric a raw, expressive character that will only intensify as it fades.
