orSlow calls this one the Shoe Cut, and the name does the explaining: the leg is drawn to fall over your footwear rather than stop short of it. That happens gradually. The pattern stays roomy through the hip and thigh, holds a straight line down to the knee, and only then opens into a flare, so the shape reads far closer to a generous, easy jean than to anything that announces itself as flared. Cuff them and the flare quiets down further. The denim is a 13oz woven in Japan from Japanese cotton, substantial in the hand yet soft enough from the start to wear every day, and it comes one wash, so the shrink is already out of it and the fades begin on your schedule rather than after a soak. Everything from sewing through final finishing happens in Japan, which is where the quality of the details comes from, right down to the paper patch at the waist and the zip fly. As the indigo gives way it will mark the high points of the leg first, along the thigh and the knee and wherever the flare catches, and that pattern belongs to how you wear them. 13oz Japanese denim 100% cotton One wash Woven, sewn, and finished in Japan Zip fly Paper patch Made in Japan Size Waist Front Rise Back Rise Thigh Knee Leg Opening Inseam 1 (S) 31.5" 13 17.3 13.9 10.5 11.4 28.7 2 (M) 33.1 13.4 17.7 14.3 10.8 11.6 29.5 3 (L) 34.6 13.8 18.1 14.6 11 11.6 29.5 4 (XL) 36.2 14.4 18.7 15 11.3 11.8 30.3 5 (XXL) 37.8 15 19.3 15.4 11.7 12 31.1 A variance of +/- .5" is within tolerance. Fit Notes: These are a roomier fit thorughout, but the size (3) fit Tommy the best in the waist, per usual. These feel a lot like the other denim silhouettes in the top block, so we would recommend sticking with your true size. Tommy is our standard fit model at 5'9", 160lbs with a 33-34" waist. table { width: 100%; border-collapse: collapse; } th, td { border: 1px solid black; padding: 8px; text-align: center; } th { background-color: #f2f2f2; }
