This Patek Philippe reference 3712/1A ranks among the rarest expressions of the Nautilus, produced for barely a year in 2005 before the 5712 succeeded it, and it is offered factory sealed exactly as it left Geneva. It is the first Nautilus to run the automatic caliber 240 PS IRM C LU, whose 22k gold micro-rotor turns behind the first sapphire display back in the collection, and it arranges power reserve, pointer date, moon phase, and small seconds in the asymmetric layout that makes it the earliest Nautilus to carry several complications at once. The stainless steel case measures 43mm in height by 38mm across at a slim 8.7mm thickness, wearing with the easy presence Gérald Genta gave the original. The blue gradient dial completes a watch that has never been opened, its original Swiss air still sealed within, a state almost no 3712 in existence can claim.
