## Summary

Luxury 18K yellow gold watch featuring a ruby baguette-cut bezel, a diamond-paved dial with ruby Roman numerals, and a day-date display.

## Description

This Rolex Day-Date 40, reference 228398TRU, is one of the most jeweled expressions the brand has ever granted its flagship, its bezel channel-set with calibrated baguette-cut rubies above a diamond-paved dial marked by ruby Roman numerals. The pairing of diamond and ruby belongs to the narrow tier of gem-set commissions Rolex rarely lets reach the open market, a watch built for the collector who wants the house at its most unrestrained rather than its most discreet. Driving it is the automatic calibre 3255, a Superlative Chronometer movement built around the Chronergy escapement with a roughly seventy-hour reserve, carrying the instantaneous day and date that named the model. The 18k yellow gold case measures 40mm across and 13mm thick, its weight announcing itself on the wrist while holding the balanced silhouette the Day-Date has kept since 1956, the year Rolex first spelled the day in full across a dial. Few watches state prestige this plainly.
