L'Iris is the first Eau de Parfum created by Officina Profumo-Farmaceutica di Santa Maria Novella in over 800 years. At the base of the olfactory construction lies the iris butter ("concreta d'iris") extracted from the flower's rhizomes: an extremely precious ingredient, it requires 6 years of maturation before it can be harvested. The Iris is also a symbol of Florence and is depicted in the city's historic coat of arms.
