## Summary

English Jacobean Revival upholstered side chair featuring a stained hardwood frame with turned front legs, a stretcher base, and antique velvet upholstery in a blue and gold patterned damask.

## Description

This English Jacobean Revival side chair reflects the enduring appeal of seventeenth century design, featuring turned front legs, a stretcher base, and a tall upholstered back inspired by earlier Jacobean backstools. Constructed of stained hardwood, likely oak or beech, the chair retains its decorative woven upholstery with a repeating floral stripe pattern that complements its historic character. Dating most likely to the late eighteenth or nineteenth century, it represents the period's renewed interest in English vernacular furniture and traditional craftsmanship while offering  interpretations of earlier forms.
